Andrew’s Awesome Ribs

Servings: 6-8

Ingredients

  • 3 racks of baby back ribs
  • Spice Mixture:
    • tbsp sage
    • tbsp cumin
    • tbsp garlic powder
    • 1 ½ tsp salt
    • 1 ½ tsp pepper
    • Optional:
      • tbsp brown sugar for sweeter
      • tbsp cayenne for spicier
    • Honey (optional)
    • 1 cup BBQ sauce of choice

Directions

  • Pre heat oven to 350°.
  • Rub both sides of ribs with spice mixture or drizzle honey on the bones side.
  • Place bone side up on roasting rack.
  • Cook 30 minutes.
  • Baste with bbq sauce and cook 15 more minutes.
  • Flip.
  • Cook 30 minutes.
  • Baste with bbq sauce and cook 15 more minutes.
  • Finish for 2 minutes under broiler.
  • Remove and rest 5-10 minutes.
  • Serve with baked beans, corn bread and veggie of choice.  

Chef’s Notes

This is the recipe I use when cooking in my city apartment and do not have access to my smoker.

Suggested Pairings

Rhone valley Syrah or a hearty California Cabernet Sauvignon. I personally enjoy the 2019 Guigal Crozes Hermitage and the 2019 Charles Krug Cab.
