Intro
Rotterdam is the second largest city in the Netherlands and home to Europe’s largest port. Reconstructed following the devastation of WWII, the city is now known for its fantastic modern architecture. It is easily walkable, but has excellent mass transit systems too. It’s also the perfect place to base yourself if you want to see the famous windmills in Kinderdjik; you can take the super-convenient ferry if you don’t have a car. We recommend 2 days here.
