By Chef Trinity

Servings: 4 dozen

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375° F.
  • In medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and the vanilla extract until creamy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.
  • Gradually, beat in dry mixture until completely integrated.
  • Stir in chocolate chips in sections.
  • Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll balls of dough and place equidistant on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8 minutes on the oven’s middle rack.

Baker’s Note

At 8 minutes the cookies will look slightly underdone, take them out anyway. They continue cooking on the sheet after being removed from the oven and this ensures they stay moist.
